SAFETY, DESIGN and PASSION
SHOEI helmets take their form from state-of-the-art technology combined with nearly 60 years of helmet building experience, using the most advanced materials available. With safety, comfort, and passion in mind, SHOEI product development always takes customer feedback, demands of the market, and new trends into consideration. Although safety and function- ality always play the dominant role, the design aspect is never neglected. This special combination of perfect functionality, unique design, and unsurpassed quality standards are testimony to the passion that SHOEI has for motorcycle riders worldwide.
PRODUCTION and QUALITY ASSURANCE
For all the energy and passion invested into the development of a product, the same level of care and due diligence must be achieved during the production process. A number of unique, state-of-the-art processes combine to yield the unrivaled quality that only SHOEI helmets are known for, and each helmet must pass several rigorous inspections throughout the production process before being awarded the famous SHOEI hexagon. The actual production of a single SHOEI helmet takes up to five days.
AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus); Proprietary technology integrates a multi-ply matrix specifically designed to meet both SNELL M2015 and DOT standards. Hand-laid interwoven layers of fiberglass with lightweight organic and high performance fibers. SHOEI’s strongest, lightest, most elstic shell provides optimal impact absorption.
FINAL ASSEMBLY of each helmet is done with care and precision, including the installation of ventilation sliders, shield seals, impact absorbing EPS liners, and comfort interiors. Each helmet passes a detailed final inspection before being passed on to the consumer. This strict compliance with the production processes and associated quality control standards guarantee the consis- tently high quality of a SHOEI helmet. completed by hand. Combining meticulous handwork and automation in production ensures optimal quality, and each SHOEI helmet still boasts a premium-painted finish with hand-applied decals before being sealed with additional layers of clearcoat. SHOEI applies up to five layers of paint to each helmet. SHOEI’S PAINTING AND GRAPHIC APPLICATION processes are second to none. Though some of our production steps have been automated today, it is absolutely critical that many processes are still ROBOTIC LASER CUTTING gives each helmet its final shape. All protrusions created in manufactur- ing are cut off, and the openings for the shield and ventilation systems are cut into the helmet shell with robotically-controlled lasers. Once this process is complete, all helmets are thoroughly inspected to ensure that they have the correct material thickness and weight.
